Save Thousands On Legal Fees While Getting Expert Guidance Every Step of the Way
Divorce Without Lawyers: the membership that helps you navigate your divorce with confidence… without the heavy cost!
You’re not alone
You never thought you'd be here. None of us did. But here you are, facing divorce and feeling overwhelmed by the mountain of paperwork, legal jargon, and eye-watering solicitor fees ahead of you.
Every time you think about moving forward, you hit another wall of confusion. Where do you start? Which forms do you deal with first? What's a Form E? And how on earth are you supposed to navigate court if your ex has lawyers and you don't?
And of course, it’s not just the practical or legal side that causes such enormous overwhelm - what about the emotional side? Your world is turning upside down, and you don’t know which way is up anymore. Trust me, I get it. I've been exactly where you are, and I know what’s needed to gently (but firmly) guide you through to the other side.
NB: Whilst this membership was originally created to assist people with their divorces and related financial settlements, it has now grown to include child arrangements and domestic abuse cases as well, and we are now working towards including assisting unmarried couples in the coming year.
The Truth About Divorce Costs
Let's talk about what everyone's thinking but nobody in the legal profession really wants to say out loud: divorce can be expensive. Really, really expensive. The average cost to final hearing with solicitors and easily reach (and exceed) £30,000, and that's per person, not per couple. That's £60,000 that could be going towards your fresh start, your children's future, or simply keeping a roof over your head.
Much of the money expended in legal fees comes down to three things:
1. Lawyers charging £250+ per hour for routine administrative tasks which you could handle yourself
2. Delays because clients don't understand what's needed or when, or the repercussions of the delay
3. Paying repeatedly for the same explanations because the process is overly complex
Here’s what most people don’t know: most legal costs can be avoided if you know what you are doing - meaning you won't have to pay those astronomical fees to get a fair outcome.
The divorce system has changed dramatically over the years. While there are times when it really would be preferable (and sometimes essential) to use a solicitor (and I'll be the first to tell you when that is), a very large part of the process can be handled yourself.
That's why I created Divorce Without Lawyers.

The membership is run by me, Ellie Foster, a qualified and practicing family lawyer with nearly 30 years of working in family law.
Why I created Divorce Without Lawyers
I created this membership because I saw how unfair the system can be. As a secretary in a high profile family law firm when going through my own divorce, I had access to some of the best legal minds in the field helping me. Without this support, I don’t know how I would’ve managed.
The experience left me feeling disillusioned with the system which so heavily favours those with money. What about everyone else?
I believe everyone deserves access to quality legal guidance without having to remortgage their house to pay for it. That is why I decided to qualify into family law and to do things differently. I feel so proud when I see our members confidently navigate the divorce system, represent themselves in court and save tens of thousands of pounds on legal fees.

I would like to to say that I successfully won my case at final hearing today and the reason I want to share it with you is that I wouldn’t have done it as LiP if not for Elaine’s group and her membership lounge with access to all paperwork, videos and support
Group member, LiP
You have made this horrendous process a lot easier to cope with in my darkest hours. Me, my children and my family will always be forever grateful and we are finally very near the end

Why Is It So Affordable?
This is the question we get asked the most. It almost seems too good to be true.
Solicitors often charge upwards of £300+ an hour for simple administrative tasks, yet this membership is only £35 (plus vat) per month for regular access to a qualified family lawyer, a community to ask questions and an extensive training library.
We keep costs down by:
● Teaching you to handle routine admin yourself
● Providing clear, accessible information that prevents costly mistakes
● Giving you 24/7 access to resources so you're not paying repeatedly for the same information
● Supporting you in a group setting while offering optional 1-to-1 support when needed
Another benefit of our pioneering membership is you can stay for as long as you need - whether that's for one month, twelves months or beyond. You're on a monthly rolling membership and can cancel anytime, and better still, as long as you remain a member your fees will NEVER increase - the price you join at is the price you will pay until you no longer need us. All we ask that is that you give us 5 working days notice before your monthly renewal so that we can stop the payment being taken - that’s it!

FAQS
No. At Divorce Without Lawyers we put the control over your legal costs back into your hands. We are here for as long as you need us, and when you don't need us anymore, you can end your membership at any time with no penalty. All that we ask is that you remember to cancel your subscription at least 5 working days before the auto renew date to ensure that our payment provider does not continue to take payment.
Whilst it is our goal to support anyone who needs help to do as much as they can themselves, there are cases that may not be suitable for self-representation, for example where there are particularly complicated areas of law, or where a party simply does not feel emotionally strong enough to face their ex in a court room without the backing of a legal team. However, even where a case is best served by working with a lawyer, the group can still help to keep fees down by ensuring that the member can do as much of the day to day work, including form filling and admin as possible, ensuring that time spent communicating with the lawyer is well spent. Many of our members have lawyers on board and have reported huge savings in learning how to do the admin side of the case themselves.
Divorce Without Lawyers does not provide individual one to one advice or court representation as part of the subscription, however, this can be arranged separately through our network of insured and regulated lawyers (additional fees will apply)
Many of our members successfully navigate their divorce even when the other party has legal representation. We'll show you exactly how to handle this situation.
No. Divorce Without Lawyers provides a group learning experience, not individual legal advice. However, if you do want to work with Elaine on a 1-1 basis, this can be arranged separately via a regulated law firm (additional fees will apply)
Absolutely! We break everything down into manageable steps and provide video tutorials for each form
You can cancel anytime before your next monthly renewal. No questions asked. So at best, you save tens of thousands of pounds. And at worst, you’ve spent less than you’d spend on a takeaway.
